Info and Overview resource tabs

I’d like to know what is planned to make the overview and info tabs for resources easier to use/more useful.

My experience with the info tab is that there is just too much information on it for my day to day tasks. It’s all useful to have, but the details I need most are spread out through a very long list and I honestly don’t remember what the property names of them are most of the time. Is there something in the works to make this easier? If I could pin which properties are most important to me to the top of the screen, that’d be helpful. Being able to put them in a table on the overview tab would also be very helpful.

Right now, I’m not really using the overview tab much since I can’t put what would be useful on it. To me these seem like they should be device level dashboards. Are there any plans to add more functionality to this tab? I’d need more tabular data instead of just graphs (important details from the info tab, instance level info from various datasources, etc.)

    Hellooo! 

    I’m Sarah, one of the PMs over the UIv4 experience. Like Stuart said - we have some upgraded experiences in UIv4. You can create device-level dashboards via an AppliesTo, so it makes it easier to build out views with the specific datapoints you want.

    Additionally, you can pin graphs on the Overview tab of a device. There’s a bar at the bottom of the screen that let’s you customize what graphs you want to see that stay pinned so you can reference them whenever.

    But on top of that - we’re trying to figure out how to improve the Info tab and graphs experience in UIv4. I’d be curious to know:
    1. How many properties are y’all interested in pinning - is it just a handful (like ~5) or more? Would this be applicable to all resources or just a subset?
    2. What other types of information would you be interested in seeing on the Overview tab?
    3. At what level would you want to see “pinned” information? At the group, device, datasource…. or just all levels?

    I’m also always happy to schedule a quick 1:1 session as well with whoever wants to chat.

    Yes, we have interesting ideas for the Info and Overview resource tabs. It will be great to schedule a UX session to understand the end-user perspectives on these ideas.

    Think dashboard widgets on sub-tabs where each tab has its own appliesto. (hoping that’s still the direction)

    There should be some really cool stuff regarding this. Won’t spoil it, but I’m anxious to see what they say about it.
