widgets should have more preset sizes

I need four equal width columns that fill the entire screen. Is there a way to change the width so that they fit across the screen without the width being cut in half?   It looks like there are four width presets.   When populating a default dashboard with widgets sit would be very helpful to have more width presets. I'm using a standard graph widget.
