Feature Request: Instance Expressions
We have build a tool, deployed in many LogicMonitor accounts to automatically configure monitoring and alerting off for SNMP_Network_Interfaces where device matches an AppliesToFunction and the Interface name or Description fields matched (or does not match) a regex. For example, with the following instances on CORE_SWITCH_01, alerting is either enabled or disabled, based on whether the description OID has the word "Monitored" present. Note that GigE-1/2/6 is not discovered because it has not been up within the last 30 days. [✓] TenGigE-1/0/1 (Monitored WAN Interface) [✗] TenGigE-1/0/2 (Unused) [✗] GigE-1/2/1 (Workstation) [✗] GigE-1/2/2 (Workstation) [✗] GigE-1/2/3 (Workstation) [✗] GigE-1/2/4 (Workstation) [✓] GigE-1/2/5 (Monitored Access Point 1) [✓] GigE-1/2/7 (Monitored Access Point 2) Here's the problem... As soon as someone plugs a workstation into GigE-1/2/6, it gets discovered by Active Discovery. As soon as the unplug it, the instance starts alerting. The only thing that we can do about that is to REMOVE the filter for down devices and re-run the tool. So far so great - the customer is happy. BUTLogicMonitor should have this capability built-in. It should be possible to automatically have Alerting Enabled expressions applied to instances at the DataSource level. These expressions should by in an appliesToFunction-like language, and have access to all Resource and Instance custom, auto and inherited properties, as well as wildvalues, resource name, description etc. So... our feature request - please add both "IsEnabledExpression" and "IsAlertingEnabledExpression" capabilities, so that we can solve the (well-known and hated!) AWS Monitoring - auto-discover sub accounts of tenant
We have a customer with many sub-accounts underneath their main AWS tenant. The AWS accounts were added to monitoring using the "AWS Organizational Unit" method, and this allowed us to discover all of the accounts. https://www.logicmonitor.com/support/aws-organizational-unit-monitoring-setup However, there is no way for us to click "Manage" on the root AWS group and add newly created accounts after the initial add. With Azure monitoring we can click Manage on the account and select the Subscriptions, but the same thing is not currently possible for AWS monitoring. I would like to request that... add an easy interface for us to add or remove sub-accounts from AWS OU/tenant monitoring. Similar to how Azure Subscriptions can be easily added/removed from monitoring via the GUI add an option for all AWS sub-accounts of a tenant to be automatically discovered so that we don't need to manually add them each time a new account is created under the tenant.Matt_Whitney17 days agoAdvisor
UIv4 Dashboards Page - Table Widgets and instance-level properties
In the new UIv4 dashboards page, we are now able to add properties to a Table Widget as columns. However we can currently only add device-level properties to Table Widgets. It would be really useful for a lot of use cases if we could add instance-level properties to a dashboard widget as well. For example if we had a table which showed interfaces, it would be useful to be able to show instance-level properties of the interface such as the interface description or interface vlan. Also being able to use the ##DSIDESCRIPTION## token within a table widget would be useful for the instance description, but we cannot do that either.Matt_Whitney17 days agoUIv4 Dashboards Page - new filtering feature & unsupported widgets
Overall I like the new filtering feature on the Dashboards page, but there are some types of widgets it does not support yet. Can we get the below widget types to support dashboard filtering by property? Map Widgets - currently Map Widgets are not affected by dashboard filters. So if I filter a dashboard by a location property, it will still show every location on the Map Widget. Even if only a single location is selected by the filter Netflow Widgets - currently Netflow Widgets also do not support dashboard filters. So if I have a dashboard showing Netflow statistics from all of my switches, I cannot filter it to only show switches for a specific site or other subgroup of switches I have not tested every type of widget with dashboard filters, but noticed that these 2 do not work and it would be useful if they did.Matt_Whitney17 days agoUIv4 Resources Page - Disable polling at group-level
I noticed some missing functionality in the UIv4 Resources page which I wanted to point out. It is not currently possible to enable or disable monitoring/polling for a specific datasource at the group-level. In the old UI this used to just be a checkbox on the "Enable" row. But today I need to switch back to the old UI if I need to do that. see below for a screenshot of this setting in the old UI. The new dashboard filtering feature allows us to filter many dashboard widgets by specific properties, such as location. We have a dynamic "site health" dashboard that allows us to see the health of specific locations by filtering on the location property and selecting the desired site from a dropdown. We would like to be able to set up a slideshow using this dynamic dashboard, so the slideshow cycles through different locations from the filters selections. Can we add the ability to set up a slideshow on a single dynamic dashboard, and then cycle through different filter selections from the dropdown instead of cycling through different dashboards? We don't want to have to create a separate dashboard for each site.Matt_Whitney18 days agoSpecify SNI for Website Checks
I have an Azure Website that is used by our company when our primary website goes down. We call it our DR website. This is done automatically using Traffic Manager. 99% of the time, our main domain points at our real website (I'm already monitoring this). I want to be able to monitor this Azure DR website's certificate to ensure we're alerted when it expires. However because 99% of the time our domain points to our real website and not the DR website, I need to use the DR website's IP for the check. This adds a new problem in that Azure websites share IPs between customers, and use SNI to determine which customer to route traffic to. LogicMonitor's website checks don't provide a way to specify the SNI header. I've tried setting the Host header to our website's domain but that didn't work.maxanderson18 days ago
Different options for "Delete Instances..."
Recently had this discussion with a customer and it was brought to my attention to raise a feature request for this. Customer is requesting that there are more than two options for deleting instances in a module. Instead of "delete immediately" or "delete after 30 days", they are suggesting a few more options such as "delete after 7 days" or "delete after 14 days".elisa_olivieri19 days agoLM Conqueror
